Roscosmos supports common technological spacecraft standards for mutual assistance in outer space

MOSCOW. Nov 7 (Interfax) - There should be common technological standards for all spacecraft so that they can help one another in outer space, Roscosmos Executive Director for Manned Space Programs Sergei Krikalev said.

"We are talking about the need for common standards. If, for instance, a spacecraft has problems, we should have the technical capacity to help one another even if we work under independent programs. We should be able to go to them, establish contact and dock," Krikalev said at the space biology and aerospace medicine conference dedicated to the theme "The Earth - Orbit - Deep Space" on Tuesday.

"When we venture outside near-Earth orbit, we should pool our efforts as mankind," he said.
