Russian prosecutors to join advanced training program in Beijing as part of bilateral cooperation

XIAN, China. Nov 7 (Interfax) - Fifteen Russian prosecutors will travel to Beijing in November to attend an advanced training program as part of scientific and educational cooperation between the Prosecutor General Offices of Russia and China, Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov said.

"Agreements in the science and education field have been prepared. Fifteen Chinese prosecutors were trained in Moscow in September, and 15 of our prosecutors will arrive in Beijing in the near future to attend an advanced training program at the State Prosecutors Academy of the People's Republic of China," Krasnov said at a meeting with Prosecutor-General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate of China Ying Yong in Xian.

The list of Russian prosecutors joining this program includes the heads of border prosecutor offices from Russian regions and Transport and Environmental Protection Prosecutor Offices that have the same status, Krasnov said.

"I am confident that this will help enhance cooperation between the prosecutor services in border territories," he said.

"Professional contacts between our agencies have consistently become stronger and have achieved new results [...] Our agreements and our projects have been implemented progressively," he said.

Krasnov also highlighted the results of Russian and Chinese representatives' well-coordinated work within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS. Krasnov said that he plans to personally attend the fifth meeting of BRICS countries' prosecutor generals in November. He also invited the Chinese prosecutor general to the sixth such meeting, which is due to take place in Russia in 2024.
