Angara A5 rocket undergoes final tests before first launch from Vostochny - Roscosmos

MOSCOW. Nov 3 (Interfax) - The Angara A5 heavy-class rocket is undergoing final tests for its launch from Vostochny Cosmodrome, Roscosmos said.

"The Khrunichev Center started the final tests of the Angara A5 rocket for its first launch as part of the creation of the Amur space rocket complex at Vostochny Cosmodrome," the press service said.

The rocket's production will be completed, and its readiness to be sent to the cosmodrome for further preparation for its first launch will be confirmed based on the results of the rocket's electric tests and evaluation of all system requirements, Roscosmos said.

"The third stage of the first flying rocket was previously delivered from the Moscow site of the Khrunichev Center to the enterprise's Omsk branch Polyot for general assembly and final tests," Roscosmos said.

The Angara A5 electric fueling rocket mockup is now undergoing tests and the Amur rocket complex is undergoing attestation at Vostochny Cosmodrome.

According to earlier reports, the Angara launch vehicle's first launch as part of flight tests from Vostochny Cosmodrome is scheduled for December 2023.
