FESCO launches maritime container service from Vladivostok to Bangladesh

MOSCOW. Nov 2 (Interfax) - The FESCO Transportation Group, whose parent company is PJSC Far East Shipping Company , continues to expand the geography of its own sea routes, launching a container service between Vladivostok and the port of Chattogram in Bangladesh, the company said in a statement.

According to the report, the maritime service includes through transportation of cargo from the Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port (VMTP, part of FESCO) to Bangladesh with transshipment in the port of Shanghai (PRC), as well as in the opposite direction.

The estimated transit time for import and export shipments is 28 days. The service will depart Chattogram once a week. The planned transportation volume is about 200 TEU per month.

Cargo traffic from Bangladesh will mainly consist of light industry goods, including clothing, fabrics and other textile products, while lumber and wood products, as well as chemical cargoes, will be shipped from Vladivostok.

The first vessel with FESCO containers made a call at Chattogram on October 30.
