GSM Chemical to set up fertilizer production in Tatarstan at cost of 667 mln rubles

KAZAN. Nov 2 (Interfax) - The Investment Council of Tatarstan on Wednesday approved a project from GSM Chemical to build a plant to produce ammonium thiosulfate (ATS) at a projected cost of 667 million rubles, the Investment Development Agency of Tatarstan reported.

The plant will be built in the Mendeleyevsky district, home of Tatarstan's largest mineral fertilizer producer, Ammoni. The goal of the project, the operator of which will be GSM Chemical - Fertilizer LLC, is to produce fertilizer based on ATS.

Construction is set to start in 2024 and production is scheduled to start in the second half of 2025, with the plant reaching design capacity in 2028.

GSM Chemical specializes in R&D in chemical technologies, the company's website said. The group includes JSC Karpov Chemical Plant, Mendeleyev Chemical Plant LLC, LiquiForce LLC (fertilizer production), Bioforte-Tula (pharmaceutical substance production) and Gras LLC (ammonium sulfate granule production).
