H&M stores to reopen in Ukraine in November - Foreign Ministry
MOSCOW. Nov 2 (Interfax) - The Swedish fashion retailer H&M plans to resume operations in Ukraine this November, Ukrainian media have reported with reference to the Foreign Ministry.
Ukrainian diplomats in Stockholm have received confirmation this week that the H&M stores in Ukraine will start resuming their work in November this year, the ministry said on its social media account.
"The return of international giants such as H&M, IKEA, and others is among the objectives of Ukrainian diplomacy and one of the most highly anticipated decisions for Ukrainians," the ministry said.
Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba confirmed reports on preparations for the reopening of H&M stores in Ukraine. "IKEA's return is actively underway" and "there will also be good news on this account soon," he said.
As reported earlier, H&M temporarily closed its stores in Ukraine on February 24, 2022.
The Swedish company Hennes&Mauritz AB (H&M), the owner of the second largest clothing retail chain in Europe, opened its first store in Ukraine in 2018. Before the end of February 2022, the H&M chain in Ukraine included five outlets in Kiev and one in Odessa, Kharkov, and Lvov each.
