Demand for new cars growing in Ukraine

MOSCOW. Nov 2 (Interfax) - The registration of new cars grew 83% to 5,700 in Ukraine in October 2023, up 0.7% from October 2022, Ukrainian media said, citing an Ukravtoprom statement on a social network.

According to the association, Toyota remains the most popular brand, as the registration of such vehicles grew 40% year-on-year to 929. The first runner-up is Volkswagen with 574 new cars registered (a three-time growth), while Skoda, which ranked fourth in September, surpassed BMW with 477 registered vehicles, up 46%.

BMW ranked fourth with 461 registered cars (a 3.6-times growth), and Renault remains the last in the top five, same as it did a month before, with 432 registered cars (+60%).

The top ten of October 2023 also includes Nissan (309), Hyundai (240), Mercedes-Benz (224), Mazda (220), and Peugeot (200).

The best-selling car was the same in September and October: Renault Duster with 387 registrations (the best-selling car of October 2022 was Toyota RAV4).

In January-October 2023, Ukrainians purchased and registered 49,600 new cars, which is 60% more than in the respective period of last year, the association said.
