Ukraine harvests over 70 mln tonnes of grains, legumes and industrial crops

MOSCOW. Oct 30 (Interfax) - Ukraine has harvested over 70 million tonnes of grains, legumes and industrial crops, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.

"We are finalizing the harvesting. [...] Over 70 million tonnes of grains, legumes and industrial crops have been harvested to date," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying at a government meeting on Friday.

The Agrarian Policy Ministry estimates this year's harvest at about 79 million tonnes of grains and oilseeds, which is almost 10% larger than last year, he said.

"The government has been and will be helping Ukrainian farmers. Agrarians are the primary beneficiaries of state soft loan programs, as they are the pillar of our economy and our exports," Shmygal said.

In his words, Ukraine exported 3.6 million tonnes of agrarian products, including almost 2.3 million tonnes, in September, while the total amount exported though the temporary maritime corridor neared 700,000 tonnes of grain.
