CIS PMs to meet next in Moscow in Dec

BISHKEK. Oct 26 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has invited colleagues from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) to meet in Moscow in December 2023.

"I invite all prime ministers of CIS member states to meet in Moscow in December. We plan to address the prospects of cultural and humanitarian cooperation. This is what unites our peoples. We value common traditions, history and culture. It is important that we map out further steps in the areas of such significance. We will be glad to see you. The dates will be coordinated in a working procedure through our respective agencies," Mishustin said at a joint meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government and the expanded format of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.

The CIS and the Eurasian Economic Union "are significant mechanisms of the provision of economic stability and an atmosphere of neighborliness and friendship between peoples," he said.

"I have no doubt that close interaction of the kind will be a token of the prosperity of the entire region and higher living standards of our peoples in the new geopolitical reality," Mishustin said.

Russia "remains a reliable ally and trade partner," he said.

"We are highly attentive to the interests of our close neighbors and friends. We are expecting similar behavior. The strengthening of multilateral relations facilitates the access of goods to foreign markets. It is also good for our citizens and business," Mishustin said.
