Baku ready to open regional communications with Yerevan's consent - Azerbaijani PM

BAKU. Oct 26 (Interfax) - Baku is interested in opening regional communications, but that would also depend on Armenia, Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov said.

"Azerbaijan has long presented its stance and is now working to open communications consistent with the trilateral statement signed [by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia] in 2020. We want the communications to open. However, that does not depend solely on us. If the opposite side [Armenia] wants so, we are ready," Asadov said at the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum on Thursday.

As for Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statement that Yerevan is ready to sign a peace agreement with Baku, Asadov said that Azerbaijan made its stance clear after the end of hostilities in Karabakh in fall 2020. "Azerbaijan's stance on the peace agreement remains unwavering," he said.
