Yandex launches testing of self-driving cars

MOSCOW. Oct 25 (Interfax) - Yandex , has begun the third stage of testing unmanned vehicles, which includes testing self-driving cars, Russia's largest IT company said in a statement.

Testing is taking place in Innopolis, Tatarstan Republic.

Yandex also notes that a driver in another vehicle will accompany the self-driving car in order to stop the unmanned vehicle remotely in case of an emergency.

The Russian government in March 2022 approved the rules and regulations for experimenting with and testing unmanned vehicles until 2025, with Yandex drones being used for implementation.
