China includes another 590 Russian businesses in lists of barley, pea and oilseed cake suppliers

MOSCOW. Oct 25 (Interfax) - China has significantly expanded its lists of Russian companies interested in supplying barley, peas and soybean, rapeseed and sunflower seed cake and sugar beet pulp to the Chinese market.

China has added another 590 companies to the lists and for the first time included companies that produce and store peas and barley from Transbaikal Territory, Chuvashia, Tatarstan and Tyumen, Belgorod, Oryol and Tambov regions, Russian plant and animal health watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor reported.

"This will make it possible to more fully unlock Russia's potential to export grain products to the Chinese market," the agency said.

The lists were expanded following consultations that Rosselkhoznadzor held with China's General Administration of Customs.

Based on received applications from businesses, Rosselkhoznadzor conducted inspections of these companies for compliance with China's quarantine phytosanitary standards, as well as safety standards, and based on the results of the inspections it recommended the potential exporters to the Chinese side, the agency said.
