Russian ambassador in Armenia handed note of protest over TV program with negative remarks about Pashinyan

YEREVAN. Oct 24 (Interfax) - Armenia's Foreign Ministry has handed a note of protest to Russian ambassador to Armenia Sergei Kopyrkin regarding a TV program on Russia's Channel 1 that contained unacceptable remarks about Armenia's leaders.

"The ambassador of the Russian Federation to Armenia, Sergei Kopyrkin, was summoned in relation to a television show broadcast on Russia's Channel 1 nationwide television channel on October 23, 2023, which made offensive and wholly unacceptable remarks about high-ranking officials of the Republic of Armenia," the ministry's press service said on Tuesday.

"At the meeting, the ambassador was handed a note of protest," it said.

At issue is an episode of the "Heir Tutti's Dolls" show, entitled "Nikol Pashinyan: a harbinger of trouble," which strongly criticized the Armenian prime minister.
