Two thermal power units under repair in Ukraine, power transmission line damaged in Kirovograd region

MOSCOW. Oct 24 (Interfax) - Two power units, namely, one at a thermal power plant (TPP) and another at a combined heat and power plant (CHPP), have been put into emergency repair, Ukrainian media reported on Tuesday, citing the Ukrenergo national energy company.

"Despite this, the electricity produced by Ukrainian power plants is enough to meet the needs of all household and legal consumers. Ukrenergo sees no grounds for restrictions in the power system. Consumption limits have not been set yet," the company said.

It is also reported that 440 communities remain without electricity for various reasons. There is damage in the regional power grids in the Kirovograd and Kharkov regions, as well as in the Kiev-controlled part of Donetsk and Kherson regions.

Ukrainian media, citing the Ukrainian Energy Ministry's statement, confirm that a power transmission line has been damaged in the Kirovograd region, leaving a number of consumers without electricity.

In total, over 16,000 consumers have been reconnected to power supply over the past 24 hours, the ministry said.
