Ukraine provided with modern equipment for administrative services with EU's, Germany's support

MOSCOW. Oct 24 (Interfax) - Twenty-five communities in the Nikolayev, Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk, Chernigov, and Sumy regions of Ukraine have been provided with five sets of equipment (passport stations) and 26 mobile cases for the provision of on-site services by Administrative Community Centers, the European Union Delegation to Ukraine said.

"This will help make administrative services as close and accessible to people as possible," Ukrainian media reported with reference to the delegation's statement available on its website.

The equipment has been supplied under the EU4ResilientRegions - Assistance Programme Ukraine co-financed by the European Union and the German government, it said.

In addition, Administrative Community Centers in the 25 respective communities have received necessary guidance and mentoring support from experts to integrate passport services through this equipment, it said.

Another 14 communities in Ukraine will receive workstations for the provision of services and the issuance of passports by the end of October with the aim of restoring the efficient functioning of the Administrative Community Centers, it said.

The workstations facilitate registration and de-registration of places of residence or stay and enable necessary changes to ID cards. The equipment not only collects biometric data for manufacturing passports for international travel but also enables the printing of passport certificates for domestic use, it said.
