Polyplastic to invest 1.5 bln rubles in plastic pipe plant in Primorye

VLADIVOSTOK. Oct 24 (Interfax) - Primorsky Polymer Pipe Plant LLC (PZPT), a division of Russia's Polyplastic Group, has launched a line to manufacture bare pipes with diameter of up to 1200 mm as part of the construction of the first phase of a polyethylene pipe plant, the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) reported.

The company will invest 1.5 billion rubles in the two phases of the project under an agreement with the FEDC, Polyplastic chief operating officer Kirill Trusov was reported as saying in the press release. The plant is located in an industrial park in the Primorye priority development area, of which PZPT is a resident.

"All of the measures that are part of the first phase of the construction of the plant will be completed before the end of this year. Four lines will produce pipes with diameter of 20 mm to 1200 mm. Overall output at the initial stage will be more than 7,000 tonnes per year," PZPT head Yaroslav Zhivikin was quoted as saying.

The plant is expected to increase production of polymer pipe products to 24,000 tonnes per year by 2027. Polyplastic registered PZPT in Primorye on March 30, 2023.

Polyplastic manufactures plastic pipes for external water supply and sanitation, gas distribution, district heating, agriculture, cable protection and industrial systems. The group includes 30 pipe plants in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan with combined capacity of about 700,000 tonnes and annual sales of 84 billion rubles.
