Ecopolis unit secures precious metal refinery status

MOSCOW. Oct 24 (Interfax) - Recycling plant Aurora, a division of Ecopolis Corporation, has been included in Russia's registry of precious metal refineries, according to a government resolution posted on the official website for publication of legal acts.

Ecopolis, which was founded in 2017, estimates it controls about a quarter of Russia's electronics recycling market.

The group has three plants: EcoTechProm, which recycles electronic waste and electrical equipment; Ecoplast, which recycles the plastic housing of electronics and appliances; and Aurora, which specialists in processing copper scrap and printed circuit boards. Aurora, the group's third plant, opened in 2021.

Ecopolis's principal shareholders as of the end of 2022 were businessman Vladislav Sviblov and developer PJSC PIK Specialized Homebuilder , the company reported.
