Ukraine's IMC agro holding completes sowing winter wheat on 20,300 hectares

MOSCOW. Oct 23 (Interfax) - Ukraine's IMC agricultural holding has completed sowing winter wheat on 20,300 hectares for the 2024 harvest, Ukrainian media reported, citing the company's statement on social media.

"The warm and dry weather in September allowed IMC to sow all the planned areas with winter wheat, and precipitation from October 10 to 20 helped achieve healthy winter shoots," IMC said in the statement.

IMC also completed threshing sunflowers on 32,100 hectares from October 1 to 20, harvesting 92,700 tonnes at an average yield of 2,900 tonnes per hectare.

"In terms of sunflowers, the average yield was not a record for IMC, taking into account the objective reasons. Nevertheless, the overall volume and quality indicators of sunflowers give hope for successful completion for processing," IMC operating director Alexander Verzhikhovsky was quoted as saying in the statement.

IMC specializes in growing grains and oilseeds, as well as producing milk.
