TMH appealing US sanctions against itself and Metrovagonmash subsidiary

MOSCOW. Oct 23 (Interfax) - JSC Transmashholding (TMH) will appeal American sanctions against itself and its subsidiary JSC Metrovagonmash, CEO Kirill Lipa told reporters.

In May, Metrovagonmash was included in the US sanctions list, and in mid-September Transmashholding was added as well.

"We'll submit it," Lipa said, answering the question whether the company plans to file documents to challenge the sanctions against Metrovagonmash. "That is, already both [sets of documents; with regard to TMH as well."

"The process is underway, lawyers have been hired and documents are being prepared," he added, clarifying that the documents are being submitted to OFAC (The Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury).

Transmashholding is the largest manufacturer of rolling stock for rail transport in Russia. TMH headquarters is located in Moscow, while international divisions are located in Egypt, Belarus and Kazakhstan. The structure of the holding includes 12 production and assembly sites in Russia and other countries, with operational geography covering 30 countries.

Metrovagonmash is one of the largest manufacturers of metro cars in the Russian Federation. It specializes in the production of rolling stock for the metro and railways, spare parts for manufactured rolling stock, major repairs, modernization and service maintenance.
