Armenia, Iran plan to nullify duties for trucks in near future

YEREVAN. Oct 23 (Interfax) - Armenia and Iran have agreed to nullify road duties for trucking.

"The issue of road duties is very important and reducing them to zero will make it possible to deliver goods at a lower price," Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash said at a press briefing in Yerevan.

Iran has reached an agreement with the Armenian side to build a new bridge with greater throughput capacity across the Araz River on the Armenian-Iranian border, he added.

The zeroing of road duties is an "important political decision," Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan said.
