Power supply to de-energized Ukrainian households partially resumes

MOSCOW. Oct 23 (Interfax) - Power supply to households de-energized by the damage to a thermal power plant in eastern Ukraine has partially resumed, and the power plant is running, Ukrainian media said with the reference to a statement made by Ukrenergo on a social network on Monday.

DTEK said several hours earlier that one of its thermal power plants was damaged on Sunday evening.

There is a blackout in 443 populated localities for various reasons, Ukrenergo said. Damage was done to power grids of the Dnepropetrovsk and Kharkov regions and the Kiev-controlled part of the Donetsk region.

The power grid operator said it saw no reason for power grid restrictions and no power consumption limits had been set.

Meanwhile, the ENTSO-E website reported a significant increase in electricity exports to 2411 MW/h on Monday (from 230 MW/h on Saturday and 234 MW/h on Sunday). Electricity is exported to Slovakia and Moldova. Electricity imports from those countries has significantly decreased to 78 MW/h, versus 1,286 MW/h on Saturday and 854 MW/h on Sunday.
