Seligdar starts building gold recovery plant at Khvoiny complex in Yakutia

YAKUTSK. Oct 23 (Interfax) - Russian mining group Seligdar has laid the foundation for a gold recovery plant and other key facilities at its Khvoiny production complex in Yakutia, the company reported.

Seligdar has started building the main building of the plant, coarse crushing facility, crushed ore storage facility, ore receiving station, filtration facility, materials warehouse and coal-fired boiler house. A 110 kWh power plant is expected to be completed by the end of October.

The company is also building temporary buildings and installations, including a dormitory and storage facility for materials and equipment.

More than 100 workers and 20 pieces of equipment are now working at the site and the number of workers will grow to 155 by the end of October and to as many as 600 during the peak period of construction.

It was reported earlier that Seligdar plans to build three open-pit mines and a gold recovery plant at the Khvoinoye deposit and start mining in 2024. The complex's production capacity, taking into account average annual reduction of mining operations and minimum mine life, will be 3 million tonnes per year. The company plans to develop operations at the three mines in the period to 2029.

Seligdar, one of Russia's top 10 gold miners, also has a tin cluster and other entities. The group is controlled by management.
