Canada introduces new immigration program for Ukrainians

MOSCOW. Oct 23 (Interfax) -The Canadian government has introduced a new immigration program for Ukrainians, which makes it possible for the latter to obtain a permanent residence permit in Canada, Ukrainian media reported citing the press service for the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada department.

Applications from those who wish to take advantage of the program will be accepted starting Monday, October 23.

Individuals eligible for the program will include Ukrainian citizens whose close relatives have Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status in Canada. For the purposes of the program, the term 'close relatives' encompasses children, parents, grandparents, spouses, brothers, and sisters.

The program is also accessible to any national of a third country whose wife or husband has Ukrainian nationality but cannot leave Ukraine, has died or gone missing.
