Direct rail services between Nizhny Novgorod, Minsk to be launched in Dec - Nizhny Novgorod governor

MINSK. Oct 23 (Interfax) - Direct rail services will soon be launched between Nizhny Novgorod and Minsk, Nizhny Novgorod region Governor Gleb Nikitin has said.

"We will launch a direct train from Nizhny Novgorod to Minsk," Nikitin said on Telegram.

"The first train will depart from Nizhny Novgorod on December 13. It will arrive in Minsk in the morning of December 15 and will go back in the evening. The train will make shuttle trips once a week. It will depart from Nizhny Novgorod on Wednesdays," he said.

Tickets for trains that will run between Nizhny Novgorod and Minsk are already available, Nikitin said.

The possibility of direct rail services was discussed with Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko at meetings in Nizhny Novgorod and Minsk in the spring of this year, he said.
