RZD seeing growth in freight turnover with China, UAE, Turkey and India since start of year

MOSCOW. Oct 20 (Interfax) - Russian Railways (RZD) has recorded growth in freight turnover with China, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and India since the beginning of the year, the company's first deputy head Sergei Pavlov said during a session at the Made in Russia international export forum on Friday.

The volume of international transportation by Russian Railways in 9M amounted to 415 million tonnes, of which 325 million tonnes were exports, he said.

"Primary growth for us was freight turnover with friendly countries, it grew by 60%. The leaders - China, the UAE, Turkey and India. Some destinations are growing exponentially, for example, turnover with India has grown by 2.5 times, with the Emirates - by 5 times," Pavlov said.

"As in the past, there are also no problems now with mutual settlements for international transportation," he also said.
