Power supply restored to 16,500 consumers in Ukraine over past day - Energy Ministy

MOSCOW. Oct 20 (Interfax) - Power supply has been resumed over the past day to 16,500 consumers, the majority of them in the Kiev-controlled parts of the Donetsk and Zaporozhye regions.

"Power supply was disrupted to four populated localities in the Donetsk region and to two in the Dnepropetrovsk region. Some consumers in the Zaporozhye, Sumy, Kharkov, Kherson, and Chernigov regions also remain without electricity," Ukrainian media said on Friday, citing the Energy Ministry.

Consumers in the Zaporozhye and Odessa regions were disconnected from the grid as a result of technological disturbances. A number of consumers in the Kiev region are facing a power outage due to adverse weather conditions.

Twenty-two access points that ceased to function after flooding earlier this year have been reconnected in Kherson over the past day, the Energy Ministry said. A total of 1,500 consumers remain without electricity. Repairs are continuing.

The ministry estimated Ukraine's commercial electricity import at 522 MWh and electricity export to Slovakia at 1,000 MWh in the past day.
