Aliyev reaffirms Azerbaijani aspiration to sign peace agreement with Armenia as soon as possible

BAKU. Oct 20 (Interfax) - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev expressed the aspiration to sign a peace agreement with Armenia as soon as possible at a meeting with U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Joshua Huck on Friday.

"They exchanged views at the meeting regarding the process of ensuring peace and stability in the region and normalizing Armenia-Azerbaijan relations," a statement published on the Azerbaijani presidential website said.

Aliyev reaffirmed Azerbaijan's aspirations regarding the regional peace agenda, the normalization of bilateral relations with Armenia, "further negotiations on the peace agreement and its soonest possible signing," the statement said.
