Lines of trucks on Belarus-EU borders growing - Belarusian Border Service

MINSK. Oct 19 (Interfax) - The lines of large trucks queuing near Belarusian borders to cross into the European Union are growing, with 1,530 trucks waiting to be let through Lithuanian crossings in particular as of 10:00 a.m. Thursday, the Belarusian State Border Committee said.

"Over 1,500 trucks are waiting to cross into the EU before Lithuanian crossings, whose border control services have let about 40% of the usual [daily] number of trucks into their territory over the past 24 hours," it said.

Latvian officers at the Patarnieki-Grigorovshchina crossing point have admitted 53% of the normal daily number of trucks into Latvia over this period, it said.
