Three TTP units in Ukraine shut down for emergency repairs, one for maintenance - Ukrenergo

MOSCOW. Oct 19 (Interfax) - Three units at Ukraine's thermal power plants (TPPs) have been shut down for emergency repairs and one for routine maintenance, Ukrainian media said on Thursday, citing the Ukrenergo power grid operator.

"Despite that, the amount of electricity produced by Ukrainian power plants is sufficient to cover the needs of all household and commercial consumers. Ukrenergo sees no need for limits in the energy system. Consumption caps have not been introduced," the company said.

A total of 431 towns and villages in Ukraine remain without electricity for various reasons, Ukrenergo said. Consumers in the Odessa region have been disconnected from power supply for technical reasons. Repairs are in progress.

The regional power distribution companies' networks have sustained damage in the Dnepropetrovsk, Nikolayev and Kharkov regions and in the Kiev-controlled part of the Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, Ukrenergo said.
