Criteria for admitting Russian athletes to 2024 Paralympics expected in late Oct

PERM. Oct 19 (Interfax) - The criteria for admitting Russian athletes to the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris may be set at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) in late October, Russian Paralympic Committee head Pavel Rozhkov said.

"It remains unclear whether we will be admitted or not and what the criteria will be, since the International Paralympic Committee has yet to approve them. They will be discussed at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the International Paralympic Committee in late October. It is still unclear what they will decide in the end, although we already have a negative experience: they may change their mind two days before the games and after we are included in the competition schedule," Rozhkov said at the Russia - Country of Sports forum in Perm on Thursday.

The IPC suspended the Russian Paralympic Committee but Russian athletes were allowed to participate in international competitions, including the 2024 Summer Paralympic Games in Paris, in a neutral status.
