Ukraine in talks on opening 4 new checkpoints on border with Poland

MOSCOW. Oct 17 (Interfax) - Ukraine is negotiating the opening of four new checkpoints on the border with Poland, Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure Sergei Derkach told Ukrainian media.

This concerns the opening of the Adamchuki-Zberezhe checkpoint in Volyn, the Mlynische - Slipcze checkpoint, the the Varyazh-Usmierz checkpoint, and the Belz-Budynin checkpoint.

The Nizhankovichi-Malhowice (Poland), which operates at the temporary infrastructure exclusively for empty trucks, is also expected to be opened.

"This border checkpoint should be joint on the Polish side. We were promised to complete the work by the end of this year. The official opening and launch for transport with cargo at this checkpoint was planned from the second quarter [of this year]," Derkach said.

Additionally, Ukraine is discussing with Romania the granting of permission for trucks to pass through the Krasnoilsk-Vicovu de Sus checkpoint, where only empty trucks can pass now, he added.
