Power unit No.2 of BelNPP to launch commercial operations before end of year - Belarusian Energy Ministry

MINSK. Oct 17 (Interfax) - The second power unit of the Belarusian NPP (BelNPP) is due to be put into commercial operation by the end of this year after the work of the acceptance commission is completed, Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich was cited as saying by the ministry press service.

"It is planned that by the end of the year the unit [No.2] will be put into commercial operation," Karankevich said at the Belarusian energy and environmental forum Energy EXPO.

"For the acceptance of power unit No. 2 into operation, the acceptance commissions for the various areas have begun their work, work is underway on drawing up the necessary documents. The work of the governmental acceptance commission has been organized, it is being headed up by Deputy Prime Minister Petr Parkhomchik," the minister said.
