Naftogaz says Kharkov's gas network ready for winter, DTEK reports completion of repairs in Odessa region
MOSCOW. Oct 17 (Interfax) - Ukrainian energy holding DTEK has repaired 2,000 kilometers of power lines and 756 energy infrastructure facilities in the Odessa region as part of preparations for the heating season, Ukrainian media outlets said, citing the company's information circulated on social media.
Shrubs were cleared from 1,500 kilometers of power lines, DTEK said.
The gas supply system of the city of Kharkov and the Kharkov region is also ready for the fall-winter period, Ukrainian media said, citing a statement from Naftogaz of Ukraine.
"Our task is to provide residents of Kharkov and its region with gas and heat of course throughout this winter," Naftogaz CEO Alexei Chernyshov was quoted as saying by the company's press release following a working trip to the Kharkov region on Monday.
Acting director of Gazseti LLC's Kharkov branch Dmitry Bespalov, in turn, said that the enterprise is 100% ready for the heating season. It currently services 12,300 kilometers of gas networks and supplies gas to more than 450,000 consumers, Bespalov said. A total of 180 kilometers of gas mains and three gas distribution plants have been restored since July 2023, he said.
As reported, Gazseti's 14 branches supply gas to 6.6 million consumers.
Naftogaz registered Gas Distribution Networks of Ukraine LLC (Gazseti) on September 2, 2022. Its main field of its activity is specified as gas distribution through local pipelines.
The Ukrainian government's November 25, 2022 decree appointed Gazseti to operate the state-owned gas distribution networks.
