Russia restricts imports from Belarusian baby food maker, meat plant

MINSK. Oct 17 (Interfax) - Russian plant and animal health watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor has restricted imports from two Belarusian companies and imposed enhanced inspections on the products of another two, the agency said on its website.

The restrictions were imposed on the products of baby food maker LVL Evolution and the Mogilev Meat Processing Plant following "repeated detection of noncompliance."

The watchdog imposed enhanced lab control over the products of Orsha Meat Canning Plant and the processed meat shop of the Gomel Branch of the Gomel Regional Consumer Cooperative due to the discovery of anti-inflammatory drug diclofenac in their beef, and over the products of Smolevichi Broiler due to the discovery of listeria in its poultry meat.
