Ukrainian power grid's capacity up by 160 MW as thermal power plant unit's maintenance completed - Energy Ministry

MOSCOW. Oct 16 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian power grid's aggregate capacity has been increased by another 160 MW as engineers have completed the maintenance of a thermal power plant's unit in the Kharkov region, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the Energy Ministry's social media post.

The state-owned company Centrenergo has completed preparations for winter and all its facilities are prepared for the heating season, Centrenergo said citing its CEO Andrei Churkin.

A 160 MW unit of the Zmiyiv thermal power plant was hooked up to the grid on October 13, it said.

"Now the plant's generating capacity has been increased by another 160 MW to reach the level planned for the start of the heating season," it said.

The measure should considerably increase the stability of power supply to customers in the Kharkov power hub, it said.
