Uzbek president to visit China for Belt and Road Forum

TASHKENT. Oct 16 (Interfax) - Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a working visit to Beijing on October 17-18 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping for the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, the presidential press service said.

"The summit program includes further developing trade and economic cooperation, enhancing transport and communication connections, promoting green development programs, digitalization, and other issues," it said.

The Uzbek president will deliver a program speech at the forum's plenary session to present his vision of current aspects of international cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, it said.

The visit will also include negotiations with Xi and Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Wang Huning, it said.
