Armenia joins ICC Rome Statute

YEREVAN. Oct 16 (Interfax) - Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan has signed a declaration on the ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC), the presidential press service said on Saturday.

"On October 13, President of the Republic of Armenian Vahagn Khachaturyan signed a declaration on the ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court signed on July 17, 1998, and the adoption of the motion on the retroactive recognition by the Republic of Armenia of the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court," the press service said.

The National Assembly of Armenia ratified the Rome Statute by 60 votes for it with 22 against and zero abstaining.
