Turkmen, Romanian reps discuss energy cooperation

ASHGABAT. Oct 13 (Interfax) - Energy cooperation was discussed at a regular meeting of the Turkmen-Romanian working commission on cooperation in the energy sector that took place at the Romanian Energy Ministry on Tuesday, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry website said on Wednesday.

A delegation led by Chairman of Turkmennebit State Concern Guvanch Agajanov is in Bucharest to participate in the working commission meeting.

At the meeting, the high level of interstate cooperation, which is based on the principles of mutual trust and mutual benefit, was highlighted.

The Turkmen side noted that one of the key aspects of Turkmenistan's energy strategy is further retrofit and technological equipment of oil and gas producing and petrochemical enterprises, implementation of projects to build advanced gas processing facilities, including those to produce gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, polyethylene, polypropylene and other gas chemical products.

In this regard, it was noted that advanced resource-saving technologies and innovative scientific and technological developments were broadly put into practice.

The relevant minutes were signed at the end of the meeting.
