Four Russians with Israeli citizenship killed in southern Israel, 6 others missing - Russian Foreign Ministry
MOSCOW. Oct 12 (Interfax) - Four Russian citizens with Israeli citizenship have been killed in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone, and another six Russian citizens are reported missing, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"We regret to inform you that, according to data from the Israeli side updated on October 12, four Russian citizens permanently residing in this Middle Eastern country, who also had Israeli citizenship, were killed as a result of hostilities in southern Israel," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website.
The Russian embassy in Tel Aviv and the Russian mission to the Palestinian National Authority in Ramallah "are taking all necessary measures to find out the fate of another six Russian citizens who have been reported missing," the statement said.
"We reiterate our call to the parties to the conflict to de-escalate violence and comply with international humanitarian law in order to avoid more civilian casualties. We strongly condemn any manifestations of extremism, terrorism, hostage-taking, blockading of people, the deliberate creation of unbearable living conditions and other violent actions against civilians, along with the indiscriminate use of force during military operations," it said.
