Oil exports from Russia and Central Asia remain at 6.1 mln bpd in August - OPEC

MOSCOW. Oct 12 (Interfax) - Total oil exports from Russia and Central Asian countries averaged 6.1 million barrels per day in August, similar to July levels, OPEC said in its monthly report.

However, this figure is 3% lower than the result of the same month last year.

Exports through the Transneft system increased in August due to increased shipments through Western infrastructure, which offset the decline in the East. This figure increased 72,000 bpd, or 2%, to 3.6 million bpd. Shipments were 716,000 bpd, or 17% higher YoY.

Exports from the Baltic Sea region increased 57,000 bpd (5%) to an average level of 1.3 million bpd. Shipments from the port of Primorsk increased 113,000 bpd (18%) to an average of 0.7 million bpd. Exports from the port of Ust-Luga decreased 55,000 bpd, or approximately 9%, to an average of 537,000 bpd.

Shipments from the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk remained at an average level of 504,000 bpd.

Shipments via the Druzhba oil pipeline in August increased 41,000 bpd, or 14% compared to July to 340,000 bpd. This is 400,000 bpd (55%) lower than the same month last year.

Exports to China via the ESPO pipeline remained virtually unchanged compared to the previous month at 619,000 bpd. Shipments through the Pacific port of Kozmino decreased 24,000 bpd, or 3% compared to July, to an average of 840,000 bpd. This is 5% higher than the same month last year.

Russian Far Eastern exports from the Sakhalin ports of De-Kastri and Aniva decreased 4% in August to 247,000 bpd. This is 200,000 bpd more than in the same month last year, when supplies from De-Kastri were at an extremely low level (due to a shutdown of production at Sakhalin-1 by the former operator of the project ExxonMobil ).

Exports through the Lukoil terminal in Varandey in the Barents Sea increased about 8% compared to July to 97,000 bpd in August. There have been no deliveries from the Kaliningrad terminal for the ninth month in a row.

Oil exports from Central Asia averaged 227,000 bpd in August, which is 16,000 bpd, or about 7% less than a month earlier, but less than 15% higher than last year, OPEC said. Total exports from the Black Sea region from the CPC terminal decreased 5%, or 75,000 bpd, to 1.3 million bpd. This is 283,000 bpd, or 28% more than in the same month last year.

Oil is still not being transported through the pipeline to the Supsa terminal. Exports via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline decreased 2%, or 13,000 bpd, to an average of 599,000 bpd.

Total exports of petroleum products from Russia and Central Asia in August decreased just over 1% compared to July, to an average level of 2.4 million bpd. At the same time, there was an increase in the export of naphtha and jet fuel and a decrease in gasoil of 7%. Compared to last August, total exports of petroleum products decreased 8%, or 202,000 bpd.
