Russian and Belarusian energy ministers discuss formation of common energy markets

MINSK. Oct 12 (Interfax) - Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich and his Russian counterpart, Nikolai Shulginov, discussed the formation of common energy markets Wednesday on the sidelines of Russian Energy Week, the Belarusian Energy Ministry said.

"Issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed, including the formation of common energy markets," the ministry said.

Karankevich held a number of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of Russian Energy Week, the report said.

The Belarusian Energy Minister also met with the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission Arzybek Kozhoshev. The parties reviewed the prospects for the development of integration processes in the EAEU in both fuel and energy.

In addition, Karankevich met with Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan Daler Juma. They discussed the current state of their bilateral partnership and opportunities for intensifying contacts between the countries.

The minister also exchanged views with Deputy Director General of the IAEA Mikhail Chudakov.
