Russia could contribute to Israeli-Palestinian conflict settlement - Putin
MOSCOW. Oct 11 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said he considers it possible to revive the activities of the Middle East Quartet involving the European Union, Russia, the United States, and the United Nations.
"But why not. We have sustainable business relations with Israel, we have had friendly relations with Palestine for decades. And I believe that Russia could also make its contribution to this settlement process," Putin said in an interview with the moderator of Russian Energy Week's plenary session, answering a question on whether the Middle East Quartet mechanism could be revived.
At the same time, he pointed out that "[the conflict] is so acute that, in my opinion, we don't see anything like that happening anywhere."
