AFK Sistema interested in mining industry assets - Yevtushenkov

MOSCOW. Oct 11 (Interfax) - AFK Sistema is interested in mining industry assets, founder and major shareholder Vladimir Evtushenkov told Interfax.

"Of course," he said on the sidelines of Russian Energy Week-2023 when asked whether Sistema plans to acquire assets in mining or gold mining, without citing specific projects.

In early October, Vasily Makarov, former CEO of Pavlik gold mining company, took part in the Minex-2023 mining forum. He was listed in the forum program as chief geologist from Sistema.

Sistema's asset portfolio includes such assets as telecommunications group MTS , real estate developer Etalon , timber holding Segezha Group , online marketplace Ozon , clinic chain Medsi, hotel chain Cosmos Hotel Group, etc., but no publicly reported mining assets have yet been announced.
