Rosatom's Novawind could build 100 MW wind farm in Kyrgyzstan
MOSCOW. Oct 11 (Interfax) - JSC Novawind, the wind power division of Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom, is thinking of building a wind farm with capacity of 100 MW in Kyrgyzstan's Issyk-Kul region, according to a Novawind press release, issued after an agreement was signed with the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund to elaborate and deliver the project.
Reports have said Rosatom also plans to draft a pre-feasibility study for the construction of a low-power nuclear power plant with an RITM-200N reactor in Kyrgyzstan.
Kyrgyz Deputy Energy Minister Tilek Aitaliyev spoke about Kyrgyzstan's interest in having a small NPP built on its territory at the Expo 2020 in Dubai in January 2020.
Rosatom and Kyrgyzstan discussed a program for the rehabilitation of territories affected by uranium mining and prospects for expanding cooperation in the nuclear and related fields at the beginning of 2022.
