DUSHANBE. Oct 11 (Interfax) - Russian company Parus Electro and Tajikistan's Malika TIB have signed a memorandum on cooperation and agreed to localize production of electric charging stations in Dushanbe, Russia's trade mission in the Central Asian country reported.

Malika TIB CEO Malika Madaliyeva announced that the company has an agreement to set up serial production of electric charging stations for electric buses and cars in Dushanbe, the press release said. The agreement was reached at the Dushanbe-2023 International Investment Forum.

In future, there are plans to open a service center for charging equipment.

Tajikistan's Transport Ministry said earlier that a program has been drafted for the development of electric transport in the country to 2026 and submitted for approval to relevant ministries and agencies.

"The program consists of nine chapters, the main goal of which is to create a new avenue for the development of the economy based on the engineering sector - production of electric vehicles, creation of favorable conditions for increasing the use of electric vehicles, expansion of electric transport infrastructure and reduction of environmental impact," the ministry said.
