Ukraine to fund state border development

MOSCOW. Oct 9 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has allowed the State Agency for Recovery and Infrastructure Development to allocate 2 billion UAH for retrofitting, building and maintaining checkpoints on the state border, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.

"We adopt a resolution today that will allow the State Agency for Recovery to allocate 2 billion UAH for retrofitting, building, and maintaining checkpoints on the state border," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying at a government meeting last Friday.

This is part of the European Border priority reform, which implies that citizens and businesses will be able to cross the Ukrainian border with European countries rapidly, conveniently and without any red tape, he said.

" Additionally, we adopt a resolution that will allow us to allocate a grant of 1.8 billion UAH for rebuilding critical logistics infrastructure and road links. This is a grant from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development under the RELINC project," Shmygal added.
