Kiev receives special equipment for museums from int'l partners

MOSCOW. Oct 9 (Interfax) - A number of municipal museums in Kiev have received special equipment worth UAH 215,000 from international partners under a joint project for the protection of cultural valuables, Ukrainian media have reported with reference to the Kiev city state administration's press service.

"During a meeting at the Kiev city state administration with French Ambassador to Ukraine Gael Veyssiere and International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage in Conflict Areas (ALIPH) Executive Director Valery Freland, we discussed results of a joint project for the protection of cultural valuables of 12 municipal museums in Kiev," it said.

Owing to financial support from the ALIPH Foundation, the museums purchased special dehydrating and humidifying systems and fireproof safes and cabinets and partially installed automatic fire extinguishment systems, it said.
