Russia resumes diesel fuel exports from seaports - sources

MOSCOW. Oct 9 (Interfax) - Exports of diesel fuel from Russia resumed from the country's seaports last weekend, sources familiar with the situation told Interfax.

Over the weekend, 26,000 tonnes were shipped from the port of Novorossiysk, 43,000 tonnes went through Primorsk, while three more tankers are currently being loaded.

A statement from the government press service on Friday said that the restriction on the export of diesel fuel delivered to seaports by pipeline is being lifted, provided that the manufacturer supplies at least 50% of the diesel fuel it produces on the domestic market.

On the same day, a decree was published allowing shipments of diesel fuel registered for export before October 6 or already processed and accepted by Transneft to go to sea, as well as goods "for official use."

Neither this nor the other resolutions contain details as to how the condition for the supply of at least half of the produced diesel fuel to the domestic market will be tracked.

The Ministry of Energy is drawing up export shipment schedules taking into account the allocation of 50% of diesel fuel for the domestic market, the sources say.

Interfax sent a request to the Russian Energy Ministry for clarification.
