Russian authorities not considering introducing sole motor fuel exporter - minister

MOSCOW. Oct 9 (Interfax) - Russia's Energy Ministry does not currently plan to introduce a sole exporter of gasoline and diesel fuel, as adopted measures are already having a positive impact on prices on the domestic fuel market, Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov told reporters after Russian-Uzbek negotiations on Friday.

"We're not considering this measure at this point," Shulginov said when asked about the introduction of a special fuel exporter.

He also said there is no evident glut on the market. "Our objective is to prevent oversupply and we're not seeing this right now," Shulginov said.

Lifting the ban on gasoline exports might be the "next stage," he said. "We must act according to the situation," Shulginov said, adding that the resolution signed by the prime minister will help stabilize the situation on the domestic market.

Prices are already falling, he said. "Results are already evident, there's a downward trend in prices, but this is a market matter," Shulginov said.
