Market of new commercial vehicles in Ukraine up by 65% in September YoY - Ukrautoprom
MOSCOW. Oct 6 (Interfax) - The number of new commercial vehicles (trucks and special automobiles) registered in Ukraine increased by 1,012 in September, which is 65% more than in September 2022, Ukrainian media reported with reference to Ukrautoprom, the national association of motor vehicle manufacturers.
The number of such vehicles registered in September this year was 6% higher than in August 2023 and nearly 29% lower than in September 2021.
Renault leads the market in this respect with 214 vehicles registered in September 2023, followed by Scania (106), Ford (98), Peugeot (79), and Volkswagen (61). Compared to August, Ford climbed to the third from the fifth position.
The Ukrainian fleet of trucks and special automobiles grew by 8,132 in January-September 2023, or by 65% compared to the same period in 2022.
As reported with reference to the AUTO-Consulting information and analytical group, sales of heavy trucks in January-September grew by 70% to 3,500 from the same period in 2022, including by 72% in September alone. Sweden's Scania confidently leads this market segment.
According to Ukrautoprom, the Ukrainian market of new commercial automobiles had dropped in 2022 by over 56.5% to 6,900 from 2021.
